Rich has conducted numerous trials in Michigan State courts including felony and misdemeanor criminal trials as both defense counsel and as an assistant prosecuting attorney. Rich’s civil litigation experience includes business disputes, contract disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, domestic disputes and construction disputes. Rich also has corporate law and transaction experience, including negotiation and preparation of contract documents for business clients, regulatory compliance for charitable organization fundraising and small business set-up.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Rich earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he played football for the legendary coach, Bo Schembechler. Rich was an All Big Ten First Team Offensive Tackle and an Honorable Mention All-American. Rich also played six years in the National Football league (NFL) for the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills. After football, Rich earned his real estate sales license, sold real estate, held other types of sales positions and worked for Oakland County’s Risk Management and Development and Planning Departments.
Rich worked full time while completing law school, in the evenings, at Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University Law School).
